Future Perfect Tense

The future Perfect Tense is used to describe an action that will have been completed at some point in the future. It is often used with a time expression which identifies that point in the future.

Auxiliary verb “will have” is used with the past participle of the verb.

Subject + will have + Past participle

Note: Time expressions commonly used with the Future Perfect Tense are "by", "before" and "until".

Affirmative Sentences:

  • They will have finished the work by Monday.

  • I will have bought a new sofa by the end of this month.

  • He will have left home by this time tomorrow.

  • I will have met my friend by this time tomorrow.

  • He will have cooked pasta by 7pm tomorrow.

  • She will have gone to school by 9am tomorrow.

  • They will have arrived by this time tomorrow.

Negative Sentences:

  • He will not have received his promotion by next March.

  • She will not have cooked dinner until tomorrow.

  • He will not have graduated by next year.

  • He will not have gone to the park until tomorrow.

  • They will not have left home by this time tomorrow.

Interrogative Sentences:

  • Will he have finished his music classes by next year?

  • Will she have got married by next Monday?

  • Will you have bought a new computer by the end of this year?

  • Will he have gone to the park by this time tomorrow?

  • Will they have cooked dinner by 7pm tomorrow?
